Plain answers

Guides for the building committee.

The questions we get asked on every first call, answered in writing so you can hand them to the board.

How long does pew reupholstery take?
Reupholstery: one to two weeks for a typical sanctuary. Refinishing: one to six depending on the level. Neither closes the room.
Refinish or replace church pews?
For most rooms, refinishing costs a fifth to a third of replacement and keeps the pews the congregation already loves.
Church pew foam: density and ILD
Density decides how long the foam lasts. ILD decides how it feels. A quote should name both.
Church pew fabric guide
Pew-grade contract fabric rated 100,000 double rubs and up, mill-treated for stains, and chosen in your own light, not a showroom.
On-site vs. shop pew refinishing
Refresh and refinish work is done in the sanctuary, half the room at a time. Only heavy structural repair and doors go to the bench.
